oddly, dyens has offered FOUR different endings for the final bar, and says
"choisissez votre fin ou mélangez-les" (literally "choose your ending, or mix

Lyrics

A man about 50/60 years old, is seriously ill and is saying goodbye to his
group of friends (barra de amigos). All the song is recalling the good times
gone-by. He especially remembers his mother (santa viejita) and his little
fianceé, both dead and whom he misses without finding comfort. It is,
definitively, a sad quite melancholic goodbye.
