Neverthless, it is always possible to communicate the composer's intention, and therefore the score is presented in this edition as Thea Musgrave wrote it, and as she hopes the listener will imagine it, rather than as a precise depiction of the literal sound that one performer might produce. The ears of the listener, rather then the fingers of the performer, guide the fingering.
