[an approximate English translation from the Portugese] "This piece contrasts with the previous one at several levels, but almost seems to form a set of two complementary pieces, which even seems to be suggested by the edition. It has a basic choral character in the first part, while in the second the upper voice is more important. In interpretative terms, it is demanding when it comes to the balance of voices, and has the challenge of an ending in the dominant one, which forces the interpreter to think about the best way to get the listener to the information that this is the end." [from the notes accompanying the sheet music - Carlo Domeniconi] "Sound figures are a series of small musical pieces indicating forms which as well are to be found in more complex compositions. Therefore they are not to be understood as fragments or sketches but as 'Images' or 'Figures' preparing most efficiently - because of their shortness and technical facility - the later playing of more complex works." "...although the pieces are very easy to play, they demand a lot of control over dynamic and sound, so there is quite a lot to learn from this work." (Norbert Neunzling) The tempo of the Norbert Neunzling video is ~96 bpm (quarter notes). The sheet music does not have a key signature or a time signature, but the piece is centered around E major and appears to be in 4/4 time. The order of play is 1-4, 1-4, 5-8, 5-8. === - length of note, duration (note held) bpm - beats per minute |--- ---| repeat the section |--- ---| |*-- --*| |*-- --*| |--- ---| |--- ---| ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ the latest version of this tab can be found at http://www.classtab.org if you come across any mistakes please let me know - weed@wussu.com
